We have been so fortunate to have received a grant from DWF Foundation to allow us to expand our Art and Craft bags project to Nottingham Children's Hospital, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.

This funding meant that we were able to launch our support of this paediatric oncology unit earlier than expected. What a boost in these unprecedented times!

We have enough bags to provide the paediatric oncology wards and day unit with 130 bags, and in the initial delivery we took 30 bags to them to try out. The play team are delighted with them, and have told us that they will make such a huge difference to the work they do, and that they cannot wait to receive the rest of the bags - once they have some storage space!

One child that received a bag "absolutely loved it, you made them smile and believe me that can be really hard with what they go through", the play therapist told us.

Our bags are packed full of age appropriate art and craft items and a book, and are designed to be given by the play teams to children receiving treatment on a paediatric oncology ward when they are in isolation. They are designed to provide art and play therapy to the child, and almost act as a 'play therapist in a bag', freeing up the play team and saving the play teams budget and resources. The bags are brightly coloured and are a 'bag for life', making them as environmentally friendly as possible as the bags can be reused by the family for years to come.

We cannot thank DWF Foundation enough for the grant as it has enabled us to reach more of our beneficiaries much sooner than we hoped. The DWF Foundation (also referred to as the Foundation) is an independent charity, founded by DWF. It has the sole aim of providing funds, resources and mentoring support to help individuals, groups and communities to achieve their full potential. DWF is a global legal business, and more information about them and the work they do can be found at https://dwfgroup.com/en/about-us

The support received is invaluable and has achieved so much. From us, to them, a HUGE resounding thank you!

Crafts are on you!
